If there was one sentence we could say we hear more often, than others, when people talk about their face wash, it’d be:
"It cleans my face, but then my skin feels tighter."
Ananta Drench, our Kumkumadi and Jatamansi face wash for dry and sensitive skin, was built around solving exactly that. Because, the tightness is not your imagination, and it is not a sign that the product is working. It usually means your face wash or cleanser took more than it should have, stripping away the oils and moisture your skin locks, and needs, to feel comfortable.
Ananta Drench does the opposite. And, instead of simply telling you, we decided to hand it over to real people and ask them to tell us themselves.
This piece is about a 4-week consumer study that we ran with 52 participants using Ananta Drench in their everyday routine. No lab conditions, no scripted reviews, just honest feedback collected week after week on how it felt, how their skin responded, and whether it earned a place in their routine.
Here is everything we found, including the parts we are still working on.
ABOUT THE STUDY
-
52 participants in the cohort, 4 weeks of real-world, everyday usage.
-
90.4% response rate, meaning the feedback reflects almost the entire group, not a cherry-picked few.
-
Feedback collected on cleansing experience, skin response, four-week outcomes, texture, fragrance, packaging, pricing and repurchase intent.
-
48.9% used it twice a day, and 42.6% used it once a day, which means for nearly 92% of the cohort, Ananta Drench became part of their actual morning or night routine, not a once-in-a-while trial.
The First Thing People Noticed: No Tightness
The very first moment of truth for any face wash comes the minute after you rinse it off. It is when most cleansers reveal whether they cleaned your skin or stripped it.
For this cohort, the result was clear.
83% said their skin felt clean and comfortable, not dry or tight, right after washing.
For a face wash aimed specifically at dry and sensitive skin, this number matters most, because it is the exact problem Ananta Drench set out to fix. Only 2.1% described their skin as "clean but tight," and 14.9% noticed slight dryness.
One participant, Sameeksha Singh, put it like:
"The best thing about this face wash is that it didn't make my face feeling stretched a nd tight after washes."

How It Compared to What People Were Using Before
We also asked participants how Ananta Drench compared against the face washes they had used in the past or were using right before it.
87.2% said Ananta Drench was better or much better than their previous face wash, with 46.8% calling it "much better."
Swetha Lakshmi, one of the participants, shared a detail we did not expect but loved hearing:
"Unlike other face washes it doesn't give instant whitening effect and tighten the skin, instead it gives a subtle glow and hydration to the skin. I love the texture and how it works on my combination skin."

A lot of face washes create an instant, artificial "squeaky clean" feeling that people have been taught to associate with effectiveness, when it is often just dryness in disguise. When we formulated Ananta Drench, it was built to do the opposite; results were noticed by participants.
What Four Weeks of Daily Use Actually Changed
A single wash tells you how a cleanser feels. Four weeks of usage tells you what’s the difference.

After a month of consistent use:
-
53.2% noticed smoother skin texture
-
53.2% noticed better hydration
-
42.6% noticed softer skin
-
38.3% noticed brighter-looking skin
-
29.8% noticed better oil balance
-
25.5% noticed calmer-looking skin
-
12.8% noticed reduced acne or breakouts
"Love the post use effect, leaves the skin velvety and I don't feel the need to use a moisturiser for some time. Love the fragrance!"
The Sensory Details People Kept Mentioning
-
80.9% loved Ananta Drench’s texture and aroma experience,
-
74.5% specifically loved the fragrance,
-
95.7% reported no irritation or discomfort at all.
"It leaves my skin feeling clean, fresh, and smooth without any harsh or chemical-like feel. Absolutely loving it."
And, Anita Singh also pointed out something rational that a lot of people expect from a cleanser:
"My skin stays moisturised and hydrated throughout the day and I love that this facewash cleans properly with just one pump."
Would People Actually Buy It Again?
Ratings are easier to give. Repeat purchase is where real trust shows up.

74.4% of participants said they would probably or definitely purchase Ananta Drench again, and the study recorded a Net Promoter Score of 50, which is a substantial number for a skincare product being judged after just one month of use.
What We Are Fixing, Because That Is the Point of Asking
A consumer study like this is useful when we act on it. From the cohort, two pieces of feedback stood out. Even though each came from a single participant, we made a note in our books.-
A request for a pump with a safety guard, to make travel easier
-
A suggestion to explore anti-ageing peptides in future formulations
These are now on our radar for how Ananta Drench evolves.

Learnings From The Cohort
Here is everything we are taking forward from this study, in our own words:
What To Keep: The non-drying, gentle cleansing that defined this product's standing.
What To Lead With: Hydration, smoother texture and softness, since these were the strongest and most consistent outcomes reported.
What To Refine: Packaging and everyday usability, especially for accessibility and travel.
The Takeaway
The right face wash has one job over anything else, i.e., to clean your skin without taking away anything that it needs to be better and feel comfortable. For 52 people over four weeks, Ananta Drench did exactly that for most of them. Where it did not, they told us. And we are listening, just as we did with the Haridra Quench cohort.
Truly, this is really why this study was done. Not to prove we that got everything right, but to find out what real people experience when they use the product on their real skin, in everyday routine. So, the next version is better than the last.
